Advantages and Limitations of Dentures

For the edentulous patient, dentures offer many advantages compared to the alternatives. Dentures can be esthetically pleasing, they provide support for both vertical and horizontal profiles, they are easy to maintain and cost effective.

However, these benefits are often hampered by patient discomfort, difficulties in chewing, problems with pronunciation, laughing and smiling.

To compensate, denture wearers often change their daily routines and diets in ways that expose them to general health risks. Today with greater focus on the relationship between dentistry and systemic health, we recognize that edentulism has a direct impact on patients’ overall health with problems ranging from psychological, to nutritional and digestive concerns.

As a result, many dentists are hesitant to readily recommend dentures as a viable solution, but one treatment option will dramatically improve the quality of life of denture patients.

 The Simple Solution for Denture Comfort

Dentatus Atlas Implant System consists of 4 or 6 implants and the Tuf-Link silicone liner. The liner compensates for ridge changes and bone resorption, cushioning the denture-ridge interface while optimizing patient comfort.

Atlas implants can be loaded immediately, and thus patients can leave the single-visit chairside procedure with a cushioned, comfortable, and stable denture.
